Diversity and inclusion (D&I) management is increasing in importance. Most firms around the world are introducing different kinds of strategies and encouraging the implementation of programs that enhance their culture by inclusion of diverse talent. The purpose of this paper is to show how global organizations, such as Novartis, can implement diversity and inclusion strategy successfully and thoroughly while also showcasing the positive effects of it on business results. The paper first presents issues leading to a need for such strategies and then goes on to present Novartis’ overall D&I strategy, which is divided into three priorities and a number of initiatives. Finally, the paper offers some brief starting points for organizations on how to develop their own strategy for D&I management.
